How the learning approach works
Connection comes first. The kit encourages adults to model the word, point, name, smile, and move on rather than repeatedly testing the child. A look, reach, point, smile, sign, vocalization, or bringing over the card can all be treated as communication.
Start with only two or three cards, use the real family name the child hears — such as Nana, Dad, Auntie, Bubba, cousin, teacher, or friend — and rotate cards as interest grows.
